I'm a one-woman shop, and I make every single journal by hand, myself, from start to finish. Most orders are ready in about two weeks, since I don't rush the work.
The wider window comes down to materials. I'm a small business, so I don't keep large amounts of leather on hand. I order it as I need it, which can occasionally add time depending on availability. I'd rather quote you honestly than promise something I can't always guarantee.
